All wood used in this furniture collection is from non-endangered sources and has been used for generations in the manufacture of furniture. When a tree has come to the end of its productive fruiting life it is felled and a sapling is replanted in its place. The Mango wood we use is fast free-growing and indigenous to Java. It is never taken from the endangered rain forest and is NOT subject to certification. As with all our furniture, because it is entirely hand-made using traditional tools and methods, very little fossil-fuel energy is used in its manufacture. In addition, we kiln-dry all our wood using only off-cuts so no part of the tree is wasted.
